Services and Experience

Have you been dreaming of a community where neighbors know each other well, with the feel of an old fashioned village? Cohousing advocates' mission is to help all types of people create for themselves close-knit communities of mutual support and friendship.

Joelyn Malone

moved with her family to Monterey Cohousing Community in St. Louis Park MN in 1996, after working with the community for 5 years to purchase and develop the property. She has over 30 years' experience in working with health care and social service programs for older people and people with disabilities of all ages, and has been an independent consultant since 1999. For the past 16 years she has provided many hours of assistance to other individuals and groups working to create communities for themselves, serving on boards of non profit organizations and sharing the story of Monterey Cohousing's development process.

Phil Stevenson

is a Realtor with a strong interest in sustainable living and affordable housing. He has visited many intentional communities around the country and lived in a co-op house while going to school in Madison, WI. Phil has volunteered in homeless shelters, peace groups and neighborhood organizations. Before real estate he worked over 15 years in home construction, remodeling and maintenance.
